Comlot supervises the Swiss lottery and betting market, i.e. compliance with the Swiss Lottery Act, the Swiss Lottery Ordinance and the Intercantonal Agreement. Among its duties is also the control of illegal gambling.

Moreover, Comlot has been authorized to award licenses for new intercantonal and national lottery and betting activities.

In this capacity, Comlot oversees the gaming operations and cash flow of lottery operators. It controls compliance with statutory rules, and supervises lottery draws.

The Lottery and Betting Commission also ensures a low addictive potential of lotteries available in Switzerland.

Moreover, Comlot fights illegal gambling in the lottery and betting sectors and implements youth protection measures.
